Is energy work the same as Reiki?

I have not studied Reiki and I do not know enough about it to say if it is the same or not. If you have experience with Reiki, I would love to hear your answer. 
(From CD – “Having just received my Reiki Master attunement – I can say it is very similar to what you do.  Although Reiki does not encourage sharing of what the healer sees. In my Reiki I often see things myself – like yesterday I did a distance healing and saw a Panda bear! It even came to my dream. But I do not think every Reiki healer sees things.  I think it is just those who have clairvoyance. Anyhow yes – very similar – but your healing is clairvoyant and more of a dialogue!”)

Does one need to believe in a religion or follow any religious practices?

No. Healing energy is not linked to any belief systems. Ultimately, believing in ourselves is the the most powerful state.

What is healing?

Accepted Answer

Healing means different things to different people. My answer reflects my experiences and insights. And, it might change.
With physical conditions, healing does not always mean cure, however cure from illness might and does happen. The path to cure involves bringing awareness to the physical, mental and emotional “bodies.”
Likewise, if the presenting issue is emotional, also connecting to the physical body and mental patterns opens the door to healing. Mental/thought patterns/habits – also includes physical and emotions bodies.
In a nutshell:
No matter what issue or dis-ease brings a seeker to their healing, wholeness – the union of all our parts; no part left out or behind – is a big part of the journey.

What do I mean when I refer to energy?

The word “energy” is used in many sciences, religions, alternative healing modalities, and conversations, as well as in poetry. It has many definitions and its meaning changes with usage and with user. 
It is clear that “energy” has a lot of energy around it!
I may use it in a variety of ways, however I will usually be referring to the energy of our life force – that mysterious force that makes you uniquely who you are. A vibration that courses though us and emanates from us that contains and shares who we are, even before we open our mouths or make a move we are sharing information about ourselves and receiving information about people around us.

How to prepare for a session?

For the first session, please refrain from caffeine for a few hours prior so I can meet you and your energy without it. And, just in case it needs to be said, no alcohol or recreational drugs, ever.

What happens during a session?

This depends on why you are seeing me. There are common aspects to sessions, however, no set protocol. If you are experiencing physical pain, that is worked with first, as pain causes stress to all levels of the mind, body, emotions and energy field.
We start with where you are and let the path to unfold.

Question 7

Can we work without physical contact?

Accepted Answer

Yes, healing and energy work can be done without physical contact, so we can have healing experiences remotely. And, not everybody is comfortable being touched – this is not an obstacle in the healing process.

Can we have energy/healing session long-distance?

Accepted Answer

We can. Energetic connection and healing is not confined to the boundaries of our physical bodies and environment. (See question above and Covid protocol below.)

Question 9

How am I dealing with COVID social distancing in sessions?

Accepted Answer

During Covid-19, I am holding sessions remotely (via phone, FaceTime and Zoom) and reserve a block of time for those who need to meet in-person. 
This is the COVID-19 protocol for in-person session:
We will both wear masks when we meet at the door. We will wash our hands – me at the kitchen sink, you at the bathroom sink. There is be pump-dispensed hand soap and a fresh towel. When we enter the session space, we will sit at least 6’ apart - you, on the couch covered with a fresh sheet; me, across the room. When the session ends, we will put our masks back on to say good-bye.

What is the procedure for remote sessions?

I go by the same system that would be in place if we were meeting in person – you press the buzzer and I open the door. So, if we are meeting via phone or FaceTime, you initiate contact. If our session is via Zoom, you sign in and I will open the proverbial door.

Question 11

Group healing events? What are they?

Accepted Answer

I created the group events to give interested explorers an opportunity to connect more deeply and peacefully with their truest self through: discussion, sharing, witnessing, connecting. Some meetings will have a specific focus/topic and other meetings will be led by what is most present in the moment. Everything will be viewed and explored through the lens of love and healing. In addition to the 1.5 hour group time, every participant can schedule a 20 minute private appointment to discuss any unresolved feelings or unanswered questions from our group meeting. Each group will meet for 1.5 hours and is limited to 12 people. These events can be participated in once or in an on-going way.

What forms of payment do I accept?

Why is my fee an unusual amount?

Accepted Answer

The numbers in my fee when added together equal 9. Nine is a significant, powerful numeral in many cultures and belief systems. Energetically, it represents love and healing. When paper checks were the main method of payment, the payee was May Love and Healing Be Incorporated (a positive affirmation) and the amount is an offering to the goal/desire to love and to be loved, and for healing.

Cancellation Policy?

Yes. If you need to cancel your session, please give me 24 hours notice. Without 24 hours notice, session fee is due in full.

What is my social involvement?

Thank you for asking. I give a percentage of every session fee to organizations that are dedicated to chronic illnesses on our planet – hunger, pollution, intolerance, and abuse. There are many amazing organizations involved with these issues. I chose these: Beauty After Bruises, Black Trans Travel Fund, Pure Earth, and WhyHunger.
In addition, I donate sessions to not-for-profit fund-raising events. If there is an organization that you are passionate about, let me know - I would be happy to offer this support for their next event.
